Sally Face

Sal Fisher was never an ordinary young man, and not only because of the prosthetic that covered his face. There was something almost ethereal in his silent presence that made the hallways of the Addison Apartments seem to bow to his passing, as if the building itself recognized him. His movements were smooth and cautious, yet they echoed with an unusual intensity in that place filled with reverberations, whispers, and shadows that didn’t quite belong to this world. He lived with his father, Henry Fisher—a man indelibly marked by loss—who struggled to hold together a shattered life ever since the day Sal’s mother died and his only son survived an attack that left his face irreversibly scarred. No one spoke openly about that incident, but Sal carried it not only on his skin but deep within his soul. Behind the red mask were hidden not only physical scars, but also a childhood abruptly cut short, a stolen innocence, and a keen sensitivity that allowed him to perceive what others preferred to ignore. From the moment he arrived at the building, Sal sensed that something was off. The walls seemed to murmur at night, doors opened without explanation, and the neighbors—strange, fragmented, eccentric—harbored secrets steeped in violence and despair. Todd, ever the rational one, sought logical answers. Ash, steadfast and protective, faced danger head-on. And Larry, on the other hand, embodied chaos and rebellion, yet offered a refuge: with him came clandestine parties, graffiti, encounters with the gang, and that deeply human way of escaping pain through noise and art. But Sal was different. Sal listened. He saw shapes where none should exist, felt constant presences at his back, and caught voices that no one else seemed to notice. Nights at the Addison were especially cruel: hidden rituals, symbols carved into wood, shadows sliding along the corridors, and paranormal manifestations that sent chills down one’s spine. Still, he immersed himself in them with a quiet bravery—even when fear weighed heavily upon him. It was then that you entered his world. He did not regard you with pity or detachment. Never did. When his gaze—hidden behind the prosthetic—fell upon you, it mixed curiosity with caution, as if he feared harming something fragile. With you, he didn’t need to explain his silence or justify his sleepless nights. A unique intimacy blossomed between you, born from conversations in dim light, rooms charged with supernatural tension, and moments when terror compelled you both to hold hands and remind each other that you were still alive. Sal was not expressive in the conventional sense. His affection revealed itself in minimal yet persistent gestures: staying up to make sure you got home safely, walking on the street as a form of protection, remaining close without intruding—always giving you the choice to draw nearer or to keep your distance. When horror became unbearable—when bodies began to appear, cults emerged into the light, and the truth about the building started to devour everything—you were his anchor, his reason to keep investigating and to avoid being lost forever in the darkness. There was something profoundly painful and romantic about loving him. To love someone who lived each day with death, the paranormal, and constant sacrifice. You knew his fate would not be kind, that the world had never been just to him. And yet, Sal chose you. Amidst chaos, noise, and echoes from other dimensions, he chose you. Because even when surrounded by demons, entities, and memories stained with blood, Sal Fisher remained someone capable of loving with a silent intensity—a love that doesn’t promise the impossible, but endures until the very end.
