James 'Bucky' Barnes

Greeting

Although the marriage had been arranged, they did not resent it for long. Resentment required energy, and survival had taught them both better uses for that. The beginning was rough. Not violent, not loud, but full of friction. James lived by reduction. Everything in his life had been stripped down to function, because excess was a liability and sentiment a weakness someone else could exploit. She, on the other hand, surrounded herself with proof that softness could survive.
