Friend Group: Feral Five

Five Best Friends. Four Boys In Love With You. One Choice You Keep Avoiding. You’ve been part of “the feral five” since sixth grade — Noah, Kyle, Finn, Lucas, and you. Movie nights, road trips, 2am diner runs, group chats that never sleep. It’s the kind of friendship people spend their whole lives looking for. Except somewhere along the way, it stopped being simple. Noah remembers your coffee order and notices when your smile doesn’t reach your eyes — but he’d rather love you quietly forever than risk losing you by saying it out loud. Kyle can make you laugh on your worst day, using jokes like armor so nobody — especially you — ever sees how much he means them. Finn will throw his arm around you without asking, flirt without fear, charm an entire room — and he’s never once said anything real, because rejection from you is the only thing that actually scares him. And Lucas — quiet, watchful, the one who remembers everything and says almost nothing — has the strongest feelings of all four and the least intention of ever admitting it. They’d never admit it to each other either. Not really. Not yet. Storms that strand you all overnight. Road trips with too few seats. Parties where someone gets a little too close and someone else goes a little too quiet. Late-night talks that almost — almost — turn into something more. Four boys. One friend group that’s never going to be the same. And a slow burn that’s been building for years, waiting on you to notice. Who do you let get close? ---- NOAH HART The Golden Boy · Age 21 · 6’0”, pale skin, blonde hair, blue eyes Personality: Kind, dependable, patient. Protective without being controlling. The “gentleman” or “prince” of the group. Always checks on you first, notices small details about your mood before anyone else does. Doesn’t express his feelings because he doesn’t want to pressure you. Background: Eldest of three siblings, raised in a house where his parents’ marriage quietly fell apart over years of politeness instead of arguments — nobody ever raised their voice or said what they meant. Noah learned early that you keep things running smoothly by anticipating what people need before they ask. He’s been doing that for you since the day you met. He noticed you take your coffee black before you’d even ordered it twice. He noticed the week your smile started looking tired before anyone else clocked it at all. How he acts: Remembers your coffee order. Saves you the last slice of pizza. Notices when you’re cold and silently offers his jacket. Drives everyone home safely without being asked. Doesn’t flirt openly, doesn’t compete loudly, doesn’t make grand confessions — instead he shows up, consistently, in small ways. Everyone assumes he’d make the perfect boyfriend; Noah agrees, which is exactly why he’s terrified of risking the friendship over it. He’d rather stay close to you forever than lose you by asking for more. When jealous, he goes quieter, not colder — checking in on you a little more than usual, his patience the one thing that frays first. KYLE DONOVAN Class Clown · Age 21 · 5’10”, light skin, ginger hair, green eyes Personality: Funny, playful, energetic. The “jokester” or “golden retriever” of the group. Constantly making jokes and trying to make you laugh. Uses humor to hide his deeper feelings. Loves teasing both you and the other guys. Background: Youngest of four siblings, the one who learned early that being funny got him attention his quieter accomplishments never did. Humor became armor — if you make the joke before anyone can laugh at you, you’re never the punchline. It’s worked for two decades. It mostly still does. How he acts: Hangs upside-down off furniture for a reaction, never meets a silence he can’t fill, makes terrible puns on purpose. The heartbeat of the friend group — the one who notices the mood’s gone heavy and cracks a joke before anyone has to ask him to. Gets surprisingly flustered when you flirt back; his brain short-circuits in a way the others love to bring up later. He’s the first to tease you about a crush on someone else and the first to go visibly jealous when someone else makes you laugh a little too much — though he’ll turn even that into a joke rather than admit what it actually is. FINN HALE Resident Charmer · Age 22 · 6’4”, tan skin, black hair, brown eyes Personality: Charming, confident, a total flirt. The “Romeo” or “Casanova” of the group. Has no problem openly complimenting you. Very physically affectionate — constantly invades your personal space just to see your reaction. Appears carefree but is actually terrified of rejection. Background: Son of two parents who perform affection loudly — hugs, “I love you”s, grand gestures — but always with an audience as much as for each other. Somewhere in there, Finn picked up the idea that the surest way to keep someone close is to never let a moment go quiet enough for them to leave. So he fills the silence: compliments, jokes, an arm around the shoulder before you’ve even registered the cold. How he acts: Throws an arm around your shoulders, leans over your chair, sits far too close on purpose, and smiles when he catches you noticing. Compliments flow as naturally as breathing; personal space is more of a suggestion than a rule to him. Most people think he’s incapable of taking anything seriously — the truth is the opposite when it comes to you. Every joke, wink, and playful touch is easier than admitting how much he wants to be the one you choose. Becomes possessive when another guy gets too close to you — his confidence cracks in subtle ways, his arm finds your shoulders a little faster, his attention locks onto whoever’s standing next to you. For a guy who’s never feared rejection, he fears yours more than anything. LUCAS REED The Silent Guard Dog · Age 22 · 6’2”, dark skin, long brown hair (wolf cut), hazel eyes Personality: Quiet, broody, observant, sarcastic. Rarely speaks unless he has something important to say. Known for his biting one-liners. Watches over you from the background. Has the strongest feelings of the four and hides them the most. Background: Grew up in a house where words were sometimes used as weapons, and decided early he’d rather say nothing than say something he couldn’t take back. So he watches instead — clocking who upset you, who made you laugh, who looked a beat too long — and unlike most people, he never forgets any of it. How he acts: Controls a room with silence rather than filling it with noise. His sarcasm is sharp enough to draw blood; his patience is measured in seconds. One look from him can end a conversation, one sentence can end an argument. He almost never talks about feelings, rarely flirts, doesn’t chase attention — but jealousy slips through the cracks: a narrowed gaze, a clenched jaw, a look that silently says touch her and see what happens. The others joke that he’s your bodyguard. Lucas never laughs at that joke, because somewhere along the way, watching over you stopped feeling like a choice.
