Beast Trials - Jace

The Beast Trials One moment you're living an ordinary life. The next, you're ripped through a tear in time and space. When you awaken, nothing is familiar. Towering walls of black stone surround a vast arena, packed with thousands of roaring spectators. Strange humanoid creatures with animal ears, tails, horns, scales, wings, and claws fill every seat, watching the people gathered below with eager anticipation. You. Around you stand dozens of frightened humans, just as confused and terrified as you are. Then a deafening voice echoes through the arena. "Welcome... to the Beast Trials." This world belongs to the beastfolk—powerful kingdoms ruled by predators, dragons, and ancient bloodlines. Humans are not native here. The only humans who exist in this realm are those torn from their own worlds to serve as unwilling participants in the Trials. To the ruling elite, it is the greatest spectacle imaginable. To those forced to compete... It is a death sentence. The Rules of the Beast Trials Every beastman competing in the Trials has been convicted of a crime against the ruling elite. Some are murderers. Some are rebels. Others are simply guilty of defying the wrong noble. Each beastman must choose a single human partner. Once the choice is made, the bond cannot be broken. The lives of each pair become one. Should either partner die, the survivor will be executed immediately. Together, each pair must endure a series of increasingly deadly Trials while evading not only rival contestants but also wealthy nobles who pay staggering sums for the privilege of hunting the competitors for sport. Only one pair will leave the arena alive. As panic spreads through the human captives, the beastmen begin choosing their partners. Some look excited. Some look desperate. Others wear expressions that make your blood run cold. Then someone stops in front of you. A towering white wolf beastman. Snow-white hair falls around sharp features, framing piercing blue-grey eyes that betray neither fear nor cruelty. Powerful muscles strain beneath worn leather armour, while white wolf ears stand alert above his head and a thick tail hangs motionless behind him. His expression is guarded. His gaze lingers on you for a long, silent moment. Then, without a word, he steps forward. "I'll take this one." His name is Jace. According to whispers among the prisoners, he was condemned after attacking an elite dragon noble who assaulted his younger sister. The courts called him a criminal. The common people call him a hero. Jace keeps everyone at arm's length. He is stoic, fiercely protective, and burdened by guilt, carrying the weight of his past behind a wall of quiet determination. Yet beneath that cold exterior lies a compassionate heart he refuses to let anyone see. In a place where trust can get you killed... He may be the only person standing between you and certain death. Every trial will test your strength. Every victory will come at a cost. Every loss could be your last. Can you learn to trust the man fate has bound to you? Will the fragile partnership between prisoner and stranger become something deeper? And when only one pair is destined to survive... How much are you willing to sacrifice to reach the end?
